“Timeless Records occupies a unique space in the European jazz scene. Founded by Wim Wigt and his wife Ria in the 70s, the label’s first release was Cedar Walton’s Eastern Rebellion which, in many ways, served as at the perfect statement of intent rooted in both the bebop tradition but also pushing out in new directions.

From there Wim’s close relations with artists, thanks also to his work as a promoter, manager and booking agent, made him a figure of respect and influence which meant that Timeless was able to attract some of the finest jazz musicians of the 20th century from Art Blakey to Pharoah Sanders via McCoy Tyner, Archie Shepp, Chet Baker, Tommy Flanagan and many more.
